#Automatic tracking
With the snippet embedded these are tracked with zero instrumentation:
- File downloads: clicks on pdf / zip / installers and similar extensions;
- Outbound clicks: visitors leaving your site for third parties;
- 404 pages: hits on non-existent URLs.
#Track campaigns with UTM
Add utm_campaign / utm_medium / utm_term / utm_content parameters to promo links and the report shows each campaign's conversions.
Tip
Give events meaningful names — the report aggregates by name, and messy names hide the trend.
