1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small piece of text a site stores in your browser to "remember" you between requests — like keeping you signed in. Similar tech includes localStorage.
2. The website (webchecks.site)
This website is pure static pages and uses no analytics, tracking, or ad scripts. It writes a language-preference cookie (wc_lang, one year, containing no identifier) only when you switch language manually or are redirected by browser language on first visit; beyond that the website stores no cookies or settings. While you read these pages, all we see is your IP and browser type in server access logs, kept no more than 30 days.
3. The console (my.webchecks.site)
| Name | Type | Purpose | Validity period |
|---|---|---|---|
PHPSESSID(or equivalent name) | Essential · cookie | Session cookie for sign in, plus CSRF protection. Marked Secure, HttpOnly, SameSite=Lax. | Browser session; expires when idle |
wc_lang | Preferences · cookie | Remembers your chosen interface language (Simplified Chinese / English / Traditional Chinese) | one year |
wc-theme | Preferences · localStorage | Remembers your light / dark theme choice | Until you clear browser data |
None of the above tracks what you do on other sites, and none of it is shared with third parties.
4. Public status page
Status pages (/status/…) need no sign in and apply no cookie settings.
5. Third parties
We embed no third-party scripts (analytics, ads, social plugins, font services). The DingTalk, webhook, and other receivers you configure in console Settings never set cookies in your browser.
6. How to manage
The session cookie is required to sign in — the console won't work without it. You can view and delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings anytime; sign out also ends the session.
7. Changes and contact
If we introduce new cookies, this page will be updated and dated first. Questions: support@my.webchecks.site.
