WebCheck1. Acceptance of terms
WebCheck (the "service") is provided by the operator of webchecks.site ("we"). When you sign up, check "agree to the terms of service", or use the service, you confirm that you have read and agree to these terms, the privacy policy, and the cookie policy. If you use the service on behalf of a company or organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these terms for it.
If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.
2. The service
WebCheck is a website monitoring service: it periodically fetches the public addresses you configure, checks availability, response time, HTTPS certificate, page content, and referenced resources, records the results, and notifies you via your configured channels (email, DingTalk, webhook, etc.) when something is wrong. Exact features are those actually provided in the console and may change across releases.
This service is a monitoring and notification tool — not a security product, backup product, or managed-ops service. It will not fix your website and cannot guarantee detection of every incident.
3. Accounts
- You must sign up with a valid email address and confirm it. That address is also the default alert recipient.
- You are responsible for your account credentials. All actions taken through your account are treated as yours. If you spot unauthorized access, change your password and contact us right away.
- Each account maps to one "tenant". You can invite team members and assign roles (owner, member, read-only). You are responsible for everything members do inside your tenant.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service with a guardian's consent.
4. Acceptable use
You may only use the monitoring service on websites you own or are authorized to monitor. You must not:
- Monitoring third-party websites you are not authorized to access or monitor, or using the service to pressure any target, check it for vulnerabilities, or bypass access controls;
- Attempting to access another tenant's data, or interfering with the service's normal operation or running checks on its infrastructure in any way;
- Using content watch to scrape or copy others' copyrighted content at scale, or for any purpose that violates the target site's terms of service;
- Configuring targets that point to internal, loopback, or cloud metadata addresses (the system refuses them, but the attempt itself violates these terms);
- Sending spam or harassing messages through webhooks or the notification features, or using the service for any unlawful purpose;
- Reselling the service or sharing your account with anyone outside your tenant members.
We limit how often target sites are fetched to avoid burdening them. You must not attempt to bypass these limits.
5. Your content and data
The sites, monitoring rules, notification channels, and team members you configure in the service, plus the monitoring data collected for you (check results, incident records, page snapshots, etc.), are collectively "your data". Your data belongs to you.
You grant us the license needed to store, process, and display your data as required to provide, maintain, and improve the service. We never sell your data and never use the content of the pages you're monitoring for anything outside the service. See the privacy policy.
You can delete sites or the whole account in the console anytime. A deleted site can be restored from Trash within 30 days, then is purged for good.
6. Trial, plans, and payment
- Trial: new accounts get a 90-day free trial, no payment details needed. When it ends, site checks stop while configuration and history are kept; upgrading resumes them.
- Plans: site count, check frequency, member count, and other quotas for each plan are as stated on the pricing page and in the console. Additions over quota are refused; existing data is unaffected.
- Payment: currently via top up with redeem codes. The price shown at checkout governs and includes tax. Activated plan time is non-refundable except where the law says otherwise.
- Changes: we may adjust plan contents or prices; changes do not affect the period you already paid for, and renewal changes are announced at least 30 days ahead.
7. Service level
We do our best to keep the service continuously available, but it is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee: detection of every incident, guaranteed notification delivery, check results that exactly match what your users experience, or the availability of third-party notification channels (email providers, DingTalk, etc.).
The Security and trust page explains the measures we take against false alarms and misses, and we keep improving. Planned maintenance is scheduled for off-peak hours whenever possible.
8. Intellectual property
The service's software, interface, documentation, and trademarks belong to us or our licensors. These terms transfer no intellectual property to you. You may show your clients the status pages and reports the service generates, as long as attribution is kept.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any loss caused by undetected incidents, delayed or undelivered notifications, or inaccurate check results — including but not limited to lost revenue, lost data, or goodwill.
- Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim; for trial users, RMB 100.
- If monitoring a target you are not authorized to monitor in violation of these terms leads to third-party claims, you bear full responsibility and must hold us harmless.
10. Termination
You may stop and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate it for serious or repeated violations of these terms, if your use creates a security risk to the service or third parties, or when the law requires it. Except in emergencies, we will notify you in advance and give you a chance to export your data. After termination your data is deleted within 30 days; copies in backups are cleared in the normal rotation.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced at least 14 days ahead via inbox or email. Continued use after changes take effect counts as acceptance. Earlier versions are available on request.
12. Governing law and dispute resolution
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China. Disputes arising from these terms shall first be resolved through friendly negotiation; failing that, they are submitted to the competent courts of Hong Kong. If any provision is held invalid, the rest remain in force.
